Let’s talk about this new “food pyramid.”

You’ve probably seen the updated recommendations circulating again — with an emphasis on meat, dairy, and animal-based proteins positioned as foundational to health. And right at the top besides vegetables. 😳

But here’s what most people aren’t told:

Nutrition policy in the United States has long been influenced by powerful agricultural lobbying groups. The meat and dairy industries invest millions of dollars each year in marketing campaigns and policy advocacy to ensure their products remain central in national dietary guidelines. That doesn’t automatically make the guidelines wrong — but it does mean we should look at them with informed awareness.

When industry funding and public health recommendations overlap, it’s wise to ask questions.

Because here’s the truth: a truly vibrant, preventative, whole-food lifestyle doesn’t generate the same profits as it would managing chronic illness. The more people rely on highly processed foods and heavy animal-product diets, the more we see rising rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, inflammation, and digestive disorders. And those conditions fuel massive sectors of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

That’s not conspiracy — it’s simply economics.

Now let’s talk biology.

Human bodies thrive on fiber, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and living enzymes — all of which are found abundantly in fruits, vegetables, sprouts, greens, nuts, and seeds. These are the foods that support gut health, cellular repair, detoxification pathways, and long-term vitality.

Animal flesh, on the other hand, contains no fiber and is difficult for the body to digest. Diets high in processed animal flesh lead to inflammation as well as increase the risk of chronic diseases.

THAT is something to pay attention to.

And dairy?

Milk is biologically designed to help a baby mammal grow rapidly — whether that’s a calf, a goat, or a human infant. Each species produces milk specifically for the needs of its young. Many adults struggle with lactose digestion with good reason… Dairy is a major contributor to this. It’s also a big part of congestion, inflammation, and digestive ailments for many.

Just as a mother’s breast milk is perfectly designed for her baby, cow’s milk is designed for a calf — not for lifelong human consumption.

As someone who is certified in Holistic Nutrition and has been living a predominantly raw vegan, plant-based lifestyle for 14 years, I can honestly say that living animal-free is the best decision I ever made. Not only for my health, but for the sentient living beings that don’t deserve the hell humans put them through unnecessarily, and for the planet that we live on we are needlessly destroying.

Remember, there is no planet B.

The pyramid you see here reflects what aligns more with human physiology and what our body’s were biologically designed for which is:

🌿 A foundation of fresh, juicy fruits
🌿 Abundant leafy greens
🌿 Vegetables, sprouts, and herbs
🌿 Healthy plant fats in moderation
🌞 Sunlight, movement, breathwork, emotional balance

Eat to live — don’t live to eat.

Eat like your life depends on it… because it truly does.

When we center our plates around living, plant-based foods, we reduce inflammation, support our immune system, and nourish not just the body — but the mind and spirit as well.

There may not be massive profit in a lifestyle rooted in fresh produce, sunshine, and self-care. But there is freedom. There is clarity. There is vitality.

And that’s worth EVERYTHING.

Until the next one…

Peace, love, and healing vibes ✌🏻💖🌱

P.S. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about awareness. Once you see the bigger picture, you get to choose differently.
